a serious question...

At the turn of the Century, one of the great leading newspapers asked the following question to many powerful and notable persons In Great Britain:

"What in your opinion is the chief danger, social or political, that confronts the coming century?"

Here is one of the responses:

"In answer to your enquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be:

  • Religion without the Holy Ghost;
  • Christianity without Christ;
  • Forgiveness without repentance;
  • Salvation without regeneration;
  • Politics without God;
  • Heaven without Hell."

The old Red, White and Blue

A Dutchman was explaining the red, white, and blue Netherlands flag to anAmerican.

the Dutchman said "Our flag is symbolic of our taxes.
We get red when we talk about them taxes
white when we get our huge tax bills
and we get blue after we pay them huge tax bills."

The American nodded in agreement.
"I understand completely and agree and It's the same here in the good ole USA with our flag and taxes, only we see stars, too."
